Five astronauts from different cultural backgrounds are chosen to form the crew of the first manned space flight to Mars.
The psychological profile of each one of them is crucial to the success of the mission. Everything will depend on how well they can adapt to the long and dangerous journey, living in a cramped spacecraft and in extreme conditions.
On Earth, the authorities responsible for the mission and the team of engineers, psychologists and other specialists, have the astronauts under close surveillance, monitoring their every move to an extent unimagined by the crew.
They have been trained many years and have passed extreme and severe technical, medical and psychological tests. But now, on the spacecraft, millions of miles away from everything, with no guarantee that they will safely return to earth, the rules have changed.
They are up against a new dimension of loneliness never before experienced. But they are willing to do whatever it takes to succeed, no matter the consequences.
